Question by Bonnie Kessel: Medicine or treatment for hair loss?
My mom has hypothyroidism and is on medicine that is causing her hair to constantly fall out. It’s so sad to see her like this because she is still a young going mom and it makes her so upset to see her hair come out in clumps. Anyone know of any good vitamin, hair treatment, etc that might help with her problem?
propecia has only been approved by the FDA for use in men.

Question by cileeme: Ever had your hair fall out because of biotin?
I jumped on the bandwagon with all of those who take biotin to promote hair growth and it made my hair fall out! I am not bald , nor does my hair feel thinner, but my comb had triple the amount of hair in it with ROOTS attached, ROOTS!! It did make my nails grow though. I tried two different kinds of biotin, from the same manufacturer. The only time my hair stopped coming out was during a week in between the two. I only took the second one to verify my suspicion, i returned it to the store, and put in a report to the manufacturer. Can’t find anyone else that has experienced this, ANYWHERE. Doctors recommend it for those who have hair loss. Is there a doctor in the house?

You won’t find that many people with the same problem as you. Most likely there’s something in your body that’s causing this reaction. Biotin deficiency causes hair loss, it’s not supposed to when you take it, definately call them if they have a hotline for the product.

Question by Eduard Gil: 19 years old taking Saw Palmetto? Will I turn to a chick?
I need it because apparently the problem with my hair (top not growing fast, only side and back) is caused by stress and an increase in DHT (I lift weights recently and taken creatine, bad idea) plus MPB genes can cause early hair loss. I know its DHT because the hair on the side and the back is resistant to it.

Now there is hope yet, I cut back on the creatine, and I bought anti-dht shampoo and Ultra Nourishair, now I am not sure if I should take saw palmetto as well, any thoughts?
Errr I dont want to turn into a girl lol

No – bald, and comfortable with it. Just shave your head, and get on with life, there is absolutely nothing you can do, and all you will end up doing is waste a lot of money, and make yourself miserable by tryng to fight it.
