Maintaining a healthy scalp is very important for optimal hair growth. For those who are suffering from hair loss, you shall put more attention to maintain your scalp in order to prevent your hair from keep on losing.

What is a healthy scalp? Healthy scalps are those where the skin is toned, pliable and stimulated. A toned and flexible scalp indicates a healthy network of connective tissue and nourishing blood vessels and a pliable scalp skin allows for better circulation to the hair follicles. A healthy scalp is also a clean and stimulated scalp.

How should we take care of our scalp? Here are the tips:

1. Ensure your scalp is clean. If your scalp is suffering from psoriasis or dandruff, chances are this is a large part of your hair loss problem. An oily scalp can often lead to increased dandruff and psoriasis. In this case, you should wash your hair and scalp daily with anti-dandruff shampoos.

2. Massage your scalp. A healthy scalp needs a constant supply of blood circulation. Hair follicles with a constant supply of blood will remain healthy and active. Scalp massages help bring these much needed nutrients from the blood to the scalp.

3. Avoid exposing the scalp to temperature extremes. Be careful when you use blow dryer to dry your hair. Make sure you direct the blow dryer heat down to the hair shaft and not directly toward the scalp. This is because the heated air from blow dryer will cause the scalp condition becomes too dry and lack of moisture.

4. Balancing your diet. Vitamins and minerals are essential for hair growth and your overall health in general. Nutritional imbalances may result in inadequate nourishment to our scalps which may hinder hair growth and scalp health. Avoid from crash and fad dieting.

5. Avoid smoking. Smoking constricts the arteries and the small blood capillaries, while slowing down blood circulation.

It is advisable to practice these tips in order to ensure that your scalp remains a healthy environment for your hair.

Most men worry about balding because there is a strong belief that bald men are not as attractive as they once were. Therefore, men will start to worry if they find that they have the problems of thinning hair and receding hairlines. They will find the ways to cover up their thinning hair and receding hairlines such that they will become more attractive to the women. Changing the hair style is one of the methods.

What can you do to your hair style?

1. Wash your hair 2 or 3 times a day. After washing your hair, comb it nicely. Once your hair is dry, it will look thicker and healthier. This definitely will improve your appearance instead of having dirty and oily hair.

2. Blow-drying your hair can also improve fullness of the hair and make it appears thicker.

3. Use the hairbrushes made from long plastic bristles spaced far apart to comb your hair will work the best to give you visibly thinning hair a nice and healthy full look.

4. Cut your hair short. For men who have thin hair, a very short haircut is probably your best bet. Your hair will look thick even though it is cut short. A good choice would be a short crew cut or buzz cut.

5. Comb your hair in the way that the thicker hair will cover the spot of thinning hair.

Find the best style for the rest of your hair, a style that will complement your overall looks while drawing attention away from the baldness.

For the past few years, I observed quite a number of soccer stars have suffered hair loss problem. Who are they? Alan Shearer, Zinedine Zidane, Frank Ijungberg as well as Dennis Bergkamp are among those who have suffered this problem. Alan Shearer, Zinedine Zidane, and Dennis Bergkamp have retired from their soccer career and I think Frank Ijungberg will also retire soon.

Last Sunday, I observed another two soccer stars from Manchester United also suffered this problem when I watched the soccer match of Manchester United Vs Wigan. Who are these two guys? The answer is Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs.

What are their hair loss causes? Do you think heading the ball frequently is one the reasons? This is possible because the friction produced between the ball and head when they head the ball may damage their hair follicles.

The hair loss article with title Alopecia Stress – What Can You Do To Prevent It? written by Amy Cantwell which I published earlier has mentioned “stress, emotional or physical can cause alopecia. Anything from losing a loved one to overtraining at a sport can cause stress related alopecia.” Therefore, overtraining is another factor may cause them losing their hairs.

It has been discovered that around 95% of hair loss conditions in men are categorized under Androgenetic Alopecia. These soccer stars basically have suffered hair loss due to heredity. Heading the ball frequently and overtraining may have accelerated their hair loss problem.
