I am breastfeeding my 21 month old, and about 8 months back I had a significant hair loss which I understand was due to hormonal changes. Now my hair is falling out again, very noticeably, almost like I am shedding. Could this be a vitamin deficiency? I don’t think it’s hypothyroid because I don’t gain weight easily, although I do struggle with lack of focus and memory problems. ??

my hair line is reseeding, Im terrified is there anything Im not eating that I should, or vitamins I can take to stop or reverse the effects. I know about Rogain, and have visited Bosely but I really dont want to go with either of those options.
P.S. hair loss does NOT run in my family.

After I had my most recent baby in Sept. ‘07, I weighed close to 300 pounds. After I delivered her I went through a pretty severe baby blues period that lasted about 2 weeks–I’d never had this with my previous 2 babies. In Jan. I went on a weight loss mission. I have been eating 1200 calories a day since then. I don’t exclude anything, I eat everything in all the food groups–including good fats. I drink lots of water and take a multi-vitamin. I have not started a formal exercise program (yet), but I do have 3 very young children that keep me hopping pretty much from morning to night. Today, I weigh 217. At that weight loss you’d think I’d be bouncing off the walls. But I’m not. I feel exhausted, my hair is falling out (in scary mass quantities), and I have headaches nearly everyday. I have tried to eat more calories for a period of time, but it didn’t help. Do you think this is diet related or something else? Does this sound familiar to any of you? Thanks in advance!

It’s not like sheep or cows are endangered or anything. They were made to be eaten, and are farmed to be eaten. Uggs are not made by skinning sheep alive, they kill the sheep humanely, use the hair, the skin, and eat the insides, and sometimes use the feet to to make products like jello and the like.
My question is, why do people become vegetarians? I’m not against them or anything, but in my society, people just become vegetarian to become “cool” or improve their reputation. I heard that vegetarians are slowly losing brain cells because they have vitamin deficits…
here’s a similar study for memory loss and vegetarians: http://forums.prevention.com/eve/forums/…
but what I don’t understand is that if we have an overpopulation of sheep and cows and pigs anyway, and being vegetarian is actually hurting people, what’s the point??
if you like, you can answer these questions:
1. is eating a steak the same as carrying a leather handbag?
2. do you believe that you’re helping the world by becoming a vegan/vegetarian?
3. if being vegan or vegetarian was illegal, would you still eat meat?
4. do you believe that God put animals on the earth for us to eat?
