Question by HelpMe: girls, some advice please?
Ok, I’m a 25 year old male (jeez 26 next week!). My hair has started to thin/recede quite a bit around the temples. I’m worried about the impact it’s going to have on my dating chances. So I’ve started researching hair loss treatments; the ones you apply to your hair to prevent further thinning/promote some regrowth. But before I do so, I want to hear what you have to say. If I went bald, I’d never get implants. I wouldn’t risk it given the frequently ridiculous outcomes in my opinion. But before I start using these products (and potentially doing greater damage who knows), I want to hear what you have to say. My facial features resemble more like a Nicolas Cage/Ed Norton which is also why I’m worried since I don’t have that square-jawed, small-nosed kind of look (which makes bald not so bad). I mean I’ve had good interaction with girls thus far in my life, which results strongly from my personality/sense of humor, but I have to say that I don’t think a lot of these women would have given me a chance if it weren’t for my looks (which are prob above average but nothing special). What say you?

Question by Sophie: I need some expert advice on what vitamins to take for hair loss. Please help!?
I noticed that my hair is thinning on my frontal area due to hair fall. I changed my shampoo already and I make sure to dilute in water before I use it. I use conditioner every other day and I don’t apply it on the roots. I just want to know what vitamins should I take to make my hair stronger so that it won’t break easily. I have a very laid-back lifestyle so stress is not an issue here. Please help me, I’m desperate! Thanks!

Answer by blondambition The B-vitamins are the ones for hair, and also make sure you are using the right hair brush, a cheap plastic one will break more hair. Also, be sure you are not wrapping your hair in a towel, it will cause hair breakage in the exact area you are talking about!
Question by Not me!: I need advice about hair loss, (alopecia areata)?
I have a small patch of hair loss at the crown. (Alopecia Areata) It is gradually getting worse. What is the probability that I could loose all my hair and go bald? Has anyone gone through injections for help to regrow hair? What is painful? Successful? Did you have to keep on getting the shots to regrow/ keep your hair? Did insurance cover the cost? Did you have to resort to a wig? What kind did you choose? Did you like it? How much did it cost? I have my hair cut to the shoulders, highlighted blond. This sorta helps to disguise the bald spot.

Answer by Helen I have alopecia! Trust me, you will probably not lose it all. At times it seems like it gets really thin and patchy, but I never lost it all. I bought a wig (at Bon Ton). I forget what kind it was.. I only used it for a while and I shaved it all off. It actually wasn’t as bad as it seemed. After I shaved it, the hair actually grew back a lot thicker and now I only get occasional patches.
Try and style your hair so that you have a side part so the hair covers the missing spots. And it’s a good idea to keep it short, as the stress from the hair being long and heavy makes it come out more.
I actually just was prescribed pre-natal vitamins by my doctor, who said that it would encourage the hair to grow faster and thicker, and it actually works! Lol.
It’s not the end of the world, honey; I know how it is. It seems like sometimes it’s really difficult sometimes and you just don’t know what to do, but people don’t see you for your hair, they see you for you!
