Question by PRNLPN: What causes patchy hair loss in women? I have been told stess. That’s too general of an answer for me!?
I have had my thyroid checked, numerous blood tests. I have been told that it could be linked to sleep apnea. I’ve been tested for lupus. My doctor doesn’t have any answers… I’m just wondering if she could be missing something. I am 33, I first experienced hair loss after the birth of my second daughter in 2002. I’ll get a spot, usually on the right side of my head that starts out about the size of a pencil eraser. They have been as big as an orange! I’m talking smooth baby butt bald! Hair slowly grows back, but another spot will usually appear before the previous one is completely covered by new hair. Right now, I have a spot on the back of my head about the size of a golf ball. I am stressed worrying about my hair falling out. Other than that, I would not say that I am under any more stress than most.
I have been diagnosed with alopecia aereata…I see a dermatologist who injects the affected site with steroids. Does anyone know about the rise and fall of hormone levels? Is this somethinf that changes monthly?

stress definitely can cause hair loss. but have you been diagnosed with alopecia? alopecia is just baldness, and alot of women experience alopecia…maybe you should talk to your doctor about alopecia and whether or not your hair loss is a result of that.

For hair transplantation to work, you still have to have some hair. They don’t transplant hair from another person into you. They cut hair with the follicle, usually from the back of your head (they do it in a way that you can’t tell where they have taken the hair follicles) and transplant it to the bald areas of your head. My step father had this done and it worked well. I knew he had had it done, so I could tell, and if you looked really closely you could see that the follicles were transplanted in nice neat little rows, which didn’t look natural, but again, you have to look very closely to notice. Most people you would encounter in casual circumstances wouldn’t notice because unless you closely examine your scalp, it looks natural. He had it done more than ten years ago, so perhaps they have improved methods they can use now that result in a more natural appearance. I’m from the US, so I don’t know of any doctors in your area who can do this, but I’m sure a google search would be a good place to start locating a doctor.

if i only eat when i’m hungry
+about 3-4 times a day
+small little healthy meals
+around 700-1200 calories depending on appetite
+around 28 grams of protein,fiber from fruits & vegetables
take a multivitamin,will that be enough to prevent my body from being starved and prevent hair loss and bone decay[what it's called?] and stuff like that?
