Question by MechBoy: What are the bald spots behind a feral cats ears?
A feral cat comes to our house quite often and he’s got strange bald spots behind his ears. I can see his skin clearly… there’s not a single strand of hair behind his ears. Looks kind of creepy. I know it’s some kind of disease, but does anyone have any idea kind of disease it is, and whether it is dangerous/communicable?

two things come to mind- one- ear mites. If it has ear mites then it will scratch the fur off since his ears itch.
two- he could have ringworm and it just happened to get spread to those places from him scratching.
Hopefully you can trap him and take him to a vet that handles ferals. Good luck!

Question by Malakeh: Would a 3 month old Lutino Cockatiel start to grow hair on his bald patch behind the crest of his head?
I just bought a 3 month old Lutino Cockatiel today. And I noticed that he has a bald spot on top of his head. I heard that it is normal for there kind of breed. but I was wondering if anyone knows, if there is still a strong chance that the bird would still grow some more hair in that bald spot, since it is still a baby?

I got a pair of girls from a bad situation. The Abyssinian has a penny sized bald spot behind each ear. She doesn’t seem to be itching them or anything. The female that came with doesn’t have them. Is she okay? Any home remedies?

Details: 1 year old. I had 2 females, and one of them just died last week. The other cat has a bald patch behind her left ear that she seems to be scratching an awful lot. What can it be and what can I do? We just spent $500 trying to save her sister, and I really cannot spend much more.
