Question by my husband’s wife: Can stress contribute to a hair loss in women?
I’ve noticed my hair come out more than usual… I even see some bald patches underneath the outer layer of my hair. I’ve been coming out of a major nervous breakdown. Could this be related? Will my hair grow back?

Yes in men as well. Go to your local health food store and get some folic acid and take 1mg per day. This should help with the hair loss. I used to work for a Rheumatologist and he prescribed it for his patients that had thinning hair due to their arthritis medications. Folic Acid is good for thinning hair.

I sit a lot of the times and scratch my scalp. Try to pick my hair out and really sink my nails in there, kind of like picking a scab or a dry pimple. I know this sounds disgusting, but could this be contributing to hair loss? I’ve been loosing hair and I’m only 21 – Female.

I’m an alcoholic and my hair has started thinning. I went to an AA meeting and noticed 90% of the men were suffering from hair loss. My question is whether alcoholism contributes to hair loss or if hair loss contributes to alcoholism?

I have been to many websites which say “Yes it does” and many which say “No it doesn’t”. Does anybody know the real answer to this question?
