Hair loss associated with thyroid problems most commonly are:

Taking good supplements as well as the thyroid meds can get your hair back strong again though.

The way to know if you have a thyroid disorder or not is to go to a doctor and get blood tests. That’s the only way to know.

Question by Sayed Iftekhar: What kind of doctors deal with hair loss and scalp problems?
This is kind of a two part question.

1. What kind of doctor should I go to for hair loss and scalp problems ( I am male) ?

2. I have a HMO (united health care). Can I directly go to the specialist or do I have to contact a general practitioner to get a referral ?

Thanks in advance.

Question by lumos: What kind of hot oil for home remedies for hair loss?
I’ve read a lot of home remedies to help cure hair loss and in most of the mixtures there is “Hot oil” but they don’t mention what kind of hot oil exactly? so what are the options?
I’ve read too that hair goes through stages and the last is “falling out”, how long does this stage last exactly?

This is the treatment I use.

It conditions the hair but there is nothing that can prevent natural hair loss. My hair tends to grow more slowly in cooler weather and much like trees losing their leaves, my period of loss lasts about as long as autumn. It picks up again in spring.
