Question by Guess Who! (Gone): How often do young men experience hair loss?
I mean, I started experiencing hair at 15 or 16 and back in high school, so-called cool teens made crack jokes of my receding hairline.

How often do young men under 18 experience hair loss? How often do they face harassment from high school so-called cool teens? How often do you see or hear that?

PS: This will be my final question on this section and I won’t contribute on here no more.

most of the time its’ hereditary, but im not sure where it starts…but really, its hereditary from your mothers side, so if your dad is bald, it really doesnt matter, but look at your moms uncles and her dad and ask when they started going bald

On my mother’s side of the family, her father and brother are bald, and one of her brothers has a bald patch on the back of his head. On my father’s side, nobody has been bald in any recent generation.

Every time I meet a bald person, it seems like they have a bald father, not a bald maternal grandfather.

How likely is it that I will go bald if my maternal grandfather and uncles are bald?
Oh, and my maternal great-grandfather was also bald, and his son (my grandfather) and grandsons (my uncles) are bald.

well im only 18 and starting to thin out a bit, every guy on my mothers side of my family went bald, but my dad is 55 and has a full head of hair and is just starting to grey. but you have to remember most men go bald so its very likley that bald mens fathers would also be bald it just might of happened differently.

And i would guess that you will most likely go bald if all of those guys did.

I was just wondering about this. I started losing my hair at 20. My Italian father and his father both have a full head of hair; graying but no baldness.

My Irish side on my mother’s family, my mother’s father went bald at a young age as well.

I was just wondering if there was a particular race/ethnic group where the bald gene passes through the most?

I sit a lot of the times and scratch my scalp. Try to pick my hair out and really sink my nails in there, kind of like picking a scab or a dry pimple. I know this sounds disgusting, but could this be contributing to hair loss? I’ve been loosing hair and I’m only 21 – Female.

I know the frequent use of shampoo will cause hair loss but this brought the question of what about conditioning? Does using conditioner once (or 2-3 times a week) a day also cause hair loss? Please do not state your opinions (not to be harsh >.<) but rather facts. Thanks!
