Question by John Boy: Does anyone know when Propecia (the hair-loss prevention pill) will be available in generic form?
I think the patent expires soon but can’t find any information as to when exactly. There is a lot of fake stuff out there – but at about $ 2 per pill, a generic form would be nice. I believe its made right now by Merck.

I saw that a side effect is hair loss..
I have thick hair and I’m black[if that has anything to deal with it]…Would it be likely for me to lose hair? If so, how much?

My brother(32 years old) has genetic frontal hair loss problem. He takes Finast (finasteride) 1mg dose daily with doctor’s prescription. But he is scared about it’s side affects? please give your advice and opinion about this. If you know any other treatments for this problem please let me know.
