Question by Clusterfunky: Can taking Prenatal Vitamins with Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo Help Stabilize Hair Loss?
I’ve been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for a year and been losing a good amount of hair ever since I started taking it. My doctor is switching me to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, so I hope that might help. I’ve had many people (including one doctor) recommend taking prenatal vitamins, saying it’ll help. It’s to the point where I really don’t want to be on birth control anymore. What do you guys think?

Yes, the prenatal vitamins along with the Ortho-Tricyclen could be of help with controlling the hair loss.

I take prenatal vitamins to help with my hair and I have never been pregnant before.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see if it’s ok for you to try taking prenatal vitamins to help with your hair.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by A: Biotin or Prenatal vitamins?
Which pills work and are safe for hair loss? Biotin or prenatals? I am 31 yr. old woman, not pregnant, but have noticed recently I am losing hair more than usual. I do not currently take vitamins and I am interested in receiving the vitamins needed to repenish and regrow happy, healthy hair. Is it harmful to take prenatal vitamins if you are not pregnant? Thanks!

It might have too much of certain vitamins and minerals. I’m sure prenatal vitamins aren’t horrible for you, but…I don’t think they’ll help you grow hair all that much.

So i’ve been having some hair issues lately with hair loss and hair breakage. My has been in bad shape do to heat techniques and such. I got it cut to remove all the deadness at the ends and i’ve been using a deep conditioner. I want my hair to grow back faster and stronger so I started taking a prenatal pill. but i also hear biotin really really helps hair growth and makes your hair healthy. i also need the prenatal pill for the vitamins because i’m a bad eater and don’t have the time nor money to eat with a well balanced diet.
basically my question is, is it okay to take both the prenatal pill and a biotin supplement daily?

I’m on accutane, I’m fifteen. I’ve been experiencing TONS of hair loss throughout my course on Accutane, & I’ve only been on it two months! :/
My hairs in really bad shape, super dry, frizzy somewhat on the ends (this is all from accutane)
I heard that prenatal vitamins are suppose to strengthen your hair (maybe that’d help the whole fall out deal) and they’re suppose to make your hair healthier,so I was wondering can I take them, does anybody know? Oh, and I’m not pregnant or anything.
I know the prenatal vitamins are a source of vitamin A, and that’s kinda why I’m asking this question, because I know you can’t have vitamin A while on accutane.
I wanna’ look at what you guys say first!
Then, I’ll ask my dermatologist tomorrow, since that’s when my appointment is!
