Question by tulipeliza: How did women solve hair loss problems before the modern technology available?
This is for my English paper, in which I am comparing old and modern techniques people used to treat cosmetic issues.

I heard women back then (like in the 1970s) used wigs and color hair spray to conceal bald spots, but I NEED AN ONLINE SOURCE to cite.

Thanks in advance!

They use home made remedies. Take a look here at some home remedies which is still very much used in Asian countries at least:

I’ve been using shampoos that are quite creamy to give moisture to your hair for a few months now. Then I realize that I’ve been having a sticky residue of the shampoo stuck on my hair that takes ages to wash off. And now, its causing hair loss and hence some baldness on my head. How do I solve this??

She has no greasy hair and no dandruff.
I’m just wondering if it’s her eating habit.

I agree with the first poster. It depends entirely on what has caused the loss.
I lost a lot of my hair when I lost a large amount of weight due to a protein deficiency. Once I started eating more protein I quit loosing hair but 5 years later my hair is still thinner than it was.
If it is due to medications then your doctor can advise as to treatments and options available.
Some recreational drugs can cause massive hair loss. Meth being the biggest offender. Not that I am assuming that you are using but if you were, the solution for that is obvious.

Case Scenario #2):
A Riddle Of Russian Murder: “?? ?????? ???!”
After putting away a murderer who killed the Mistress of Manor Leo’Buya, Detective Norton was on another case. This one took him all the way to Moscow, Russia. Luckily his Russian wasn’t so bad, last time he mistook “??????? (which means Listen)” and said “C???p (which means female dog…in a rude sense)”
He arrived at about 12 noon.
Sergeant Vince was at the manor awaiting.
“Why is it always manors??” Norton laughed and walked up towards a large castle looking manor. The roof tops looked like decorated Hershey kisses spiraled into some of the most ingenious design.
“Wow…They must have loved Mr. Volk.” Serge said.
“…Volk? Wolf?”
“Yeah, he was born in the grand US but came here when he was 16. This manor was a gift from his 100% Russian, political parents, whom are deceased.”
“Wow…from Russia with love.”
“He is on the floor when you walk in. It’s a gorgeous house and he ain’t a bad lookin guy Nort. He likes cats and has no relatives that we know of.”
“…Hmmm koshka…”
“Still speakin’ in Russian?”
“Da comrade.”
“…Are you calling me fat?!?”
“………Niet. Ha-Ha-Ha.”
When they reached the house, 4 suspects were sitting on the main stairway. The body was visible, as soon as you walked in you could see him.
He was laying face up, spread eagled on the floor, possibly posed. Blood all over him.
Norton looked at the suspects, 3 female, 1 male.
“Hmmmm.” Norton walked around the body.
“Forensics been here yet?”
“No Nort…I don’t know what to make of this.”
Norton walked around the body carefully, Volk had striking features, light blue eyes and a pale face. His hair was black with many streaks of grey and white, it was clean and long. Dabbling in the blood under his head. There where at least 42 or so stab wounds…that were visible.
“Stabbings are mainly personal, crimes of passion…I wonder which of you did this.” Norton said with a smirk.
He kept examining only with his eyes. His face looked as though he had an extreme shock before his death. Poor guy. Stabbed to death in his own home. Probably ultimately died of blood loss. He looked tough enough to sustain the stabbings. When he got to the upper right side of the body, he noticed hand writing, Cyrillic of course. It read:
“?? ?????? ???”
“Huh? You my death…you my demise…hmm.”
Norton knew this was someone close to him. Russians never get too close to people…such cynics.
Serge looked at the suspects and coughed a bit, he was cold.
“Why don’t you get a coat, sir. I’ll be here just leave some guards.”
“Alright.”
Serge left and Norton looked at the suspects.
“Alright. Starting from the left, tell me your stories.”
A tall, blonde haired woman stood up. Her baby blue, almond shaped eyes glistening with tears.
“Hello sir…my name Helga. Sorry my English not too good.”
Norton smiled, “Spasiba, pazhalsta- Take your time.”
She returned the smile, “I go upstairs to clean rooms. Then I went to kitchen to start dinner, I open window. I was listening to my favorite song from French film on my player of cds.”
“Da, go on.”
“I hear scream and I run here- I see…” Helga started crying, “Prostite!!! Forgive, please.”
“It’s ok, sit down. Spasiba.”
Helga sat on a stair and sniffled.
Maid #2 stood, she had short, fire red hair with matching eyes. Odd, Norton thought, I never knew eyes came in that color.
“Menya Zovut Akilina. I am second maid. I vus fixing up outside in back of Manor.”
She looked as though she was shivering, she had some ice on her eye lashes and in her hair.
“I pick up billy from tree and bring him inside for milk drinking.” She pointed to a black cat in the corner, covered in flakes of snow. “When I hear screamings I come and see, I called police for you to come here.”
“Spasiba Akilina. Please, sit.”
She did, with a long, sorrowful sigh.
“Next, please.”
A woman with black hair tied in a tight bun stood, she was a bit taller than Norton.
“My name Doroteya. I washing clothes in basement all day,” She showed her hands, covered in inks and gave off the scent of bleach, “I hear scream and I run here to see…Him…”
She sniffled.
“And lastly, Sir.”
“Menya Zovut Lukasha, I am keeper of animals and driver of man of house. I vus tending to…cats in upstairs. Most are coming down now.” His brute features showed he was around 35, he had bright blonde hair in a pony tail.
Norton looked at them all with a smile. Helga was still crying and everyone else looked sad.
Norton gleamed as Serge came back in. “Inzvinite Pazhalsta.” He walked to the back yard and saw several trees, one of which had something gleaming and silver in it. A dripping, knife. It was close to the kitchen windows and he heard a soft tone coming from the kitchen, he walked back inside and saw the CD player, covered in drops of water. Semi warm, he heard the music “Ty Gibel Moya…”
Norton went back to the room and grinned, “So who here plays Hatchet? You know, throwing hatchets to split matryoshka dolls?”
One raised their hand, Norton smiled.
“You’re the killer, please, come with me.”
Who killed Mr Volk? Explain your theories.
