Question by tidy mess: does wearing a hat increase the speed at which you go bald?
I’m definitely going bald, but only at the front at the corners of my forehead. (It’s weird because no one in my family has ever been bald, but that’s another story…) My questions is whether wearing hats will make me go bald faster. I was thinking it might because taking on or off a hat, and also the pressure that the hat puts on the scalp might disturb it enough to make the hairs fall out faster. Also, is there any difference between baseball caps and wool winter hats? Thanks!

no, baldness is genetic – has nothing t do with wearing a hat although if you have it on real tight it can stop the blood flow in your head which is part of the reason why people do go bald – so just dont keep your hat on real tight.

One of my friends used to play baseball alot during high school and throughout college and now he’s started to go bald. He can’t stand it, but i still think he’s a cutie. Anyways, is he going bald because of all the baseball caps he wore? Thanks.

I was talking to a girl from work who said that wearing a hat is very unhealthy for your hair, because it blocks oxygen, holds in sweat and dirt, and block hair follicles. This all makes sense, but it surprised me when she also said wearing a hat for a long time can make you go bald. Is this true or is this just an old wives tale?

I hear that baseball caps and make you go bald if you wear them alot.
